Dr. Reed A. Kress, Chiropractic Physician

Dr. Reed Kress' hometown is Jasper, Indiana, where he participated in football, wrestling and track. His pursuit of the chiropractic profession and love of the Boilermakers took him to Purdue University where he majored in human biology. After four years at Purdue, Kress completed 3 1/2 years of training at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO. While in chiropractic school, his focus was on the sports, nutritional, and rehabilitative approaches of chiropractic. This focus enables him to evaluate and treat each patient through individualized movements employed in day-to-day activities. His goal is to provide tailor-made treatment plans while incorporating health education to quickly and naturally restore each patient's health. Kress has been practicing chiropractic in Downtown Evansville for the for more than 10 years. He and his wife, Beth, live in McCutchanville.

Dr. Eric Marsili, Chiropractic Physician

Dr. Marsili is originally from Evanston, Indiana. He received his Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from the University of Cincinnati in 2005, and graduated from Logan Chiropractic College in 2009. Upon graduation, he received the Division of Research Award of Excellence and was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Dr. Marsili has been in practice in Cincinnati, OH for the past three years. He is pleased and excited to return to Indiana to be close to his family.

Dr. Marcel Garcia, Chiropractic Physician

Dr. Marcel Garcia is originally from Evansville, where he participated in soccer, wrestling, and track at Memorial High School. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology from Purdue University and received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College in St. Louis, Missouri as well as a Master’s Degree in Sports Rehabilitation. While studying at Logan College, Dr. Garcia worked with St. Louis area athletes in the Biofreeze Rehabilitation Clinic. He was also selected to treat patients in the Dominican Republic as part of a mission trip. He later shadowed both Dr. Reed Kress and Dr. Ross Hartings at Active Chiropractic as a student. Dr. Garcia is a certified Active Release Technique (ART) provider and uses a combined treatment approach of ART and chiropractic to provide optimal health care. He enjoys all sports and hopes to give back to the Evansville community. Dr. Garcia and his wife Kara live in Evansville with their rescued puppy Luna.

Dr. Cody Schmitt, Chiropractic Physician

Dr. Schmitt was raised in Dale and Santa Claus, Indiana. He graduated from Heritage Hills and participated in football and baseball, and played baseball at Olney Central College. After baseball he attended University of Southern Indiana where he focused on human biology and life sciences. He obtained his Bachelors in life science in 2014 from Logan College of Chiropractic and later earned his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Logan in April of 2017. During his 3 ½ years of studying and training his focus was placed on functional movement patterns, nutrition, and evidence based treatment protocols involving A.R.T., chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy, and lifestyle modifications. Dr. Schmitt has taken over Dr. Ross Hartings practice as of July 2017 after spending 7 months shadowing and learning and is excited to continue seamless care with current patients as well as serve the Evansville and surrounding communities.

Dr. Elliott Nilssen, Chiropractic Physician

Dr. Nilssen was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana. He participated in football, baseball, and wrestling throughout his youth. Upon graduating from Memorial High School, he attended the University of Southern Indiana, majoring in Kinesiology with a minor in personal training. As no stranger to injuries himself, Dr. Nilssen always had a desire to help others just as so many people helped him. While working a construction job after college, he decided to follow that desire and applied to chiropractic school. He attended Life University in Marietta, Georgia, where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic. While in school, he took interest in the courses pertaining to manual therapy modalities and rehabilitation. His treatment typically centers around chiropractic adjustments, myofascial release techniques, instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation, and rehabilitative exercise. He spent the first couple years after graduation working at a clinic in Washington state where he mostly worked with the local college athletes and servicemen/veterans from the nearby military bases. Dr. Nilssen and his wife, Megan, love to travel, hike, and spend time outdoors with their dog, Pacha.

Barbara Brown, Marketing Director

Barbara (Barbie) Brown is a seasoned professional who has a broad range of marketing experience including advertising, public relations, editing, promotions and special events. She has an extensive background in relationship development and strategic planning. For more than 25 years, she has played an active role in many charitable and civic organizations, and realizes the importance of community.

Barbie holds a bachelor of Arts from Indiana University, and is responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships within the community. Her responsibilities include health fair coordination, pain relief clinics at local sporting events, ergonomic and injury prevention presentations, events and promotions as well as marketing and public relations campaigns.

Kim Smith

Kim was born in Texas, grew up in Louisiana, and moved to Indiana at the age of 13 to begin her life as a Hoosier. She now lives in Santa Claus, IN. She and Jeff have been married for 22 years and have four wonderful children. Kim joined the practice in 2007, running the Spencer County Office and fills in at the Evansville and Princeton offices when needed. Prior to this job, Kim was a substitute teacher, but mostly devoted her time and energy to raising their four children. She enjoys volunteering and working with adults and teenagers at church and spending time with friends and family.

Kelly Paddick

Kelly Paddick works at our Princeton, IN location. She previously worked for Dr. Edwards for 28 years before he retired. She handles scheduling and insurance for the office to name a few. Kelly and her husband Steve live in Lawrenceville, IL. She is an avid waterfowl, quail and pheasant hunter and enjoys raising dogs, German Shorthaired Pointers, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and Labs.

Wilma Wigand

Wilma is a receptionist at our Evansville office. Prior to starting at Active Chiropractic, she worked at a family medical physicians office in Carmi, IL for ten years. Wilma and her husband Jerome were recently married. She has two daughters, a son, and a stepson. She is also a proud Nana of her grandsons. Wilma’s hobbies include riding her Honda Goldwing motorcycle, shooting guns and spending time with her family.

Pam Johnson

Pam works in our billing department, and primarily responsible for accounts receivable. She has worked in medical billing for close to 20 years. Pam was born and raised in the Charleston WV area, but has life has taken her to several different states, and she has recently relocated to Newburgh, IN. She has two sons, and two granddaughters, who are the light of her life! She enjoys music, and enjoys being active in her church.

Brooklynn Day

Brooklynn is a receptionist in our office. She came to Active Chiropractic with an extensive patient and customer service background including medical assistance and beauty consulting. Brooklynn likes spending time with her boyfriend and training their two dogs, Cooper and Lorelei. She also enjoys needle felting, sewing and studying American history, specifically the Civil War and WWI.
